GCCF Registration Policy For persian tabby Bi & Tri-colour cats

FULL REGISTER
Tabby Bi- and Tri-colour Persians with Full or Provisional recognition which have in their pedigrees within the preceding five generations only the following breeds:
Self Persians: Black (1), Blue (3), Chocolate (50b), Lilac (50c), Red (4), Cream (5)
Tortie Persians: Tortoiseshell (11), Blue-Cream (13), Chocolate Tortie (11b), Lilac-Cream (11c)
Tabby Persians: Brown (8), Blue (8a), Chocolate (8b), Lilac (8c), Red (9), Cream (8f), Tortie (8e), Blue Tortie (8g),
Chocolate Tortie (8h) and Lilac Tortie (8j) Classic and Mackerel Tabbies and Spotted Tabbies (8 30, 8a 30 - 8c 30, 8e 30 - 8j 30 and 9 30) (excluding all Silver Tabbies)
Bi- & Tri-colour Persians: any of the above colours plus white (12 1 - 12 4, 12a1 - 12a10t) shall be registered on the Full Register, with the exception of those cats whose pedigrees include within three generations a cat registered on the Experimental or Reference Register.
SUPPLEMENTARY REGISTER
Tabby Bi- or Tri-colour Persians with Full or Provisional recognition which have in their pedigrees within the preceding five generations only the Self, Tortie, Tabby, Bi- and Tricolour Persian breeds listed above shall be registered on the Supplementary Register.
In addition, where a White Persian (2, 2a, 2b) appears in the preceding 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th generation, a Tabby Bior Tri-colour Persian with Full or Provisional recognition may be registered on the Supplementary Register. The White Persian may not be the parent of the Tabby Bi- or Tri-colour to be registered.
EXPERIMENTAL REGISTER
Tabby Bi- or Tri-colour Persians with Preliminary recognition which have in their pedigrees within the preceding five generations only the Self, Tortie, Tabby, Bi- and Tricolour Persian breeds listed above shall be registered on the Experimental Register.
In addition, where a White Persian (2, 2a, 2b) appears in the preceding 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th generation, a Tabby Bior Tri-colour Persian with Preliminary recognition may be registered on the Experimental Register. The White Persian may not be the parent of the Tabby Bi- or Tri-colour to be registered.
REFERENCE REGISTER I
Cats of Tabby Bi- or Tri-colour Persian appearance which have in their pedigrees within the preceding five generations only the Self, Tortie, Tabby, Bi- and Tri-colour Persian breeds listed above plus Colourpoint Persians (13b1 - 13b20) shall be registered on the Reference Register as Bi-colour, Tortie & White, Tabby Bi-colour or Tortie Tabby & White of Persian type, unless cleared by test-mating or DNA testing. If not cleared, their suitable offspring shall be eligible to progress to the Supplementary or Experimental Register, as appropriate, when the required number of generations free of Colourpoint Persians have been achieved.
Cats of Tabby Bi- or Tri-colour Persian appearance which have in their pedigrees within the preceding five generations only the Self, Tortie, Tabby, Bi- and Tri-colour Persian breeds listed above plus White Persians (2, 2a, 2b) where one parent is a White Persian shall be registered on the Reference Register as Tabby Bi-colour or Tortie Tabby & White of Persian type Their suitable offspring shall be eligible to progress to the Supplementary or Experimental Register, as appropriate.
REFERENCE REGISTER II
Tabby Bi- or Tri-colour cats of Persian appearance produced from matings to other recognised breeds whose Registration Policies permit Persians as an outcross breed shall be registered as directed by the Registration Policy for the other breed, but with no reference to Persian type, and shall not be permitted in the pedigrees of Tabby Bi or Tri-colour, Persians. All other cats of Tabby Bi- or Tri-colour Persian appearance whose pedigrees include, within the preceding five generations, any breeds other than the Self, Tortie, Tabby, Bi- and Tricolour or Colourpoint Persian breeds listed above shall be registered on the Reference Register as ‘no recognised breed’ with no progression.
General Registration Restrictions
1. In order to register a Tabby one parent must be registered as a Tabby. If a cat is without an Agouti parent (Tabby) it may not be registered as a Tabby.
2. Any Red or Cream Bi-colour with an agouti parent (Tabby: classic, mackerel or spotted, or Tabby Bi- or Tri-colour) must be registered as a Red or Cream Tabby Bi-colour on the relevant Register until proved otherwise by either test-mating or DNA testing.
