GCCF Registration Policy For Siberian Cats

Agreed/effective 27 October 2004

A. Siberians of colours and patterns as described in the Standard of Points.
B. Unregistered cats from Russia: A Siberian that was born in Russia before January 2002 with an unregistered parent or parents will be accepted in Siberian pedigrees. Any cats born elsewhere with unregistered parent(s) will not be acceptable in Siberian pedigrees.
C. Siberians of the following colours: chocolate, lilac, cinnamon, fawn, caramel, apricot and Siberians displaying a Burmese or Tonkinese coat pattern are not accepted as Siberians.
FULL REGISTER
Siberian Cats with Full or Provisional recognition which have only Siberian cats, as described in A above, in their pedigrees within the preceding five generations shall be registered on the Full Register.
SUPPLEMENTARY REGISTER
Siberian Cats with Full or Provisional recognition which have only Siberian cats, as described in A above, in their pedigrees within the preceding three generations and unregistered parents / grandparents of Siberian cats born in Russia, as described in B above, in the two generations preceding that, shall be registered on the Supplementary Register.
EXPERIMENTAL REGISTER
Siberian Cats with Preliminary recognition which have only Siberian cats, as described in A above, in their pedigrees within the preceding three generations shall be registered on the Experimental Register.
REFERENCE REGISTER - I
Siberian Cats which have unregistered cats within the preceding three generations shall be registered on the Reference Register as Siberian Cats provided that the cat(s) with unregistered parent(s) were born in Russia before January 2002.
REFERENCE REGISTER - II
a) Any cat of Siberian appearance, other than those referred to in B above, with any breeds (including unregistered cats) other than Siberian Cats within the preceding five generations shall be registered on the Reference Register with no reference to Siberian type and with no progression.
b) Any Siberian born chocolate, lilac, cinnamon, fawn, caramel or apricot coloured or any Burmese or Tonkinese patterned cats of Siberian appearance shall be registered on the Reference Register with no progression.
NOTE: Before the registration of any white Siberian cat, a certificate of freedom from deafness for the white parent(s) must be supplied to the GCCF.
